Stephen Wood BA MRTPI after graduating at Manchester University, he obtained development plan and control experience with Devon County Council, Norfolk County Council and Breckland District Council before moving to the National Capital Development Commission in Canberra. He obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Recreation Planning at the University of Canberra. He has been employed on a series of Environmental Assessment projects for AusAID, for the Directorate of Town and Country Planning in the Fiji Islands, for the Australian Council for Overseas Aid (ACFOA) and for the Commonwealth Environment Protection Agency in Canberra.

He returned to Britain in 1977 and has completed a temporary posting with Braintree District Council as a Development Control Officer. He also works for the Yorkshire Branch of the RTPI establishing its Rural Outreach Planning Project.
